Your vision for the City of Ottawa : In order for Ottawa to be more then just a city of politics, I see the city growing in its cultural aspects. Promoting more activities, festivals and exhibitions. The people are starving for any form of entertainment outside of the multimedia and Ottawa has an incredible potential to become a major tourist destinations as well as a exciting town to live in.
What is Ottawa's most serious problem? : Ottawa lacks many luxuries that other cities of similar size enjoy. The easiest example that most point out of course is the transportation system and they would be right as it contributes significantly to many other problems. Simply put, to cover a short distance requires a significant amount of time and energy if one is to depend on the public transportation system. Because this can only be described as a hassle most opt to buy cars so that their time can be used more efficiently. Combining gas, insurance, repairs and other expenses can be very costly and I've seen many go deep into dept in order to use their time wisely. Now, this may be good for the economy but it disconnects people from the longterm damage that their actions do to their health, well being and the environment. Most Canadians do not realize how antisocial owning a car can be. Also sitting all the time brings one's health into question. Lastly, Canadians don't realize that on a person to person basis they are second largest polluters in the world after the US. An modern public transportation system would help make Ottawa more sociable and would promote many to have an opportunity to explore the city in greater depth.
What is Ottawa's greatest asset? : By being the capital of Canada, Ottawa naturally attracts people from all over the world even though the attractions are limited. Most are surprised my the small town feeling and quickly move to the next major city. By promoting tourism in authentically interesting ways, it will benefit both the people visiting and the locals.

Your vision for the City of Ottawa : A city where people are happy to be here and show it by reaching out and sharing their thoughts and ideas with neighbours, colleagues and politicians to make it even better - not just sit back and live with what is. What is Ottawa's most serious problem? : absolutely transportation - my son, a student who takes OC Transpo has been denied transportation many times this winter with the driver saying the bus is too full. We have lodged a formal complaint with OC Transpo as we have had it. Why are we paying for 2 Express bus passes (close to $2000/year) when we are not getting service. My daughter works at Bayshore and we live in Barrhaven - it can take her 2 hours to get home!!! Your name : Blake Robillard Your vision for the City of Ottawa : Alternative energy powered, technologically freed from wage slavery, educated to think rather than regurgitate. What is Ottawa's most serious problem? : -Being financially enslaved to private banking corporations. - -Being cared for by underpaid over worked doctors who make extra by pushing drugs endorsed by pharmaceutical companies with falsified studies to back up their data. -Being part of wars based on lies only to save face with neighboring countries and popular opinion delegated by corporately owned media. I would name the transportation as a concern. However, in lieu of these it doesn't seem that big a problem. Out of these FEW, I cant decide which one has more importance than the other. What is Ottawa's greatest asset? : still having an independent voice. Your name : Kareen Onyeaju
What is Ottawa's greatest asset? : The beauty of the large open spaces in it's parks and beaches.
Your vision for the City of Ottawa : Efficient transit, an overall happier and healthier atmoshphere
What is Ottawa's most serious problem? : Public transit! I hate getting denied when the "bus is full" or when it decides to be fashionably late. Is it really impossible for more buses to be running? Or for drivers to make an effort to show up on time? Also, the 95X Baseline is a nuisance for young Barrhaven residents. No, I'd rather not wait 30 minutes for the Barrhaven bus when it is dark outside.
What is Ottawa's greatest asset? : the landscape
